The MIT Enterprise Forum of the Pan Arab Region in partnership with the Olayan School of Business at the American University of Beirut (AUB) and the International Labor Organization (ILO) organised a roundtable discussion on "Entrepreneurship Development: Trends and Prospects in the Arab Region", targeting Deans of Business Schools in the Arab countries.
The aim of the Roundtable is to generate a discussion on the state of entrepreneurship in the region. This initiative aims at establishing common grounds for potential future collaboration.
Issues that were raised included:
- The importance of a conducive, legal and regulatory framework for entrepreneurship development: Public policies and incentives.
- Prevailing barriers and the need to stimulate investment in entrepreneurial activities.
- The promotion of a culture of entrepreneurship in the region.
- Prospects and areas of cooperation between the participants: Common agenda and joint activities in the Arab region.
